BCHS Comes Out On TOP In Local and REGIONAL Writing Competitions!

Several BCHS student competed with fifteen other schools in the University of Memphis Writing Olympics this past month.  Our students came out on TOP!  In fact, we did so well, we beat MUS, Hutchison, and Lausanne in this highly competitive writing competition!

Lilac Ding (12th), 2nd place 120 Word Persuasive Dash, Honorable Mention 80 Word Narrative Dash
Nicolas Beine (12th), Honorable Mention 40 Word Descriptive Dash
Also, in the news, all of the Creative Writing students submitted work in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition this year, and two have been recognized. There is no local competition, so their work is judged regionally along with the  submissions of students from Tennessee, but also Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia!  GO SAINTS!
Annie Barber (12th) was awarded a Silver Key for her memoir, “Color Guard is Life.” Annie’s silver key qualifies her to apply for a scholarship that covers the full-tuition for a summer writing program. Jessica Lillie (11th) was awarded Honorable Mention for her poem, “Driving Home.”
