OneVoice WINS AVA For Best Live Video and Nominated For 10 CARAs

At a ceremony in Los Angeles this Saturday night, OneVoice won the A Cappella Video Award (AVA) for Best Live Video.  Our video “Sun”, originally by Sleeping At Last, arranged by Robert Dietz, featuring soloist Wesley Abington, was chosen over GRAMMY winning Platinum artists Pentatonix.  You can watch the video on the OneVoice YouTube page or Facebook page.  This was OneVoice’s first ever AVA win and sixth nomination. OneVoice, the a cappella group at Briarcrest Christian School, was recently nominated for 10 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs).  The awards recognize the best in recorded a cappella around the world.  The nominations include:
Best Holiday Album- "This Christmas"
Best Religious Album- "This Christmas"
Best HS Album- "Elemental"
Best HS Song- "Sun" arr. Robert Dietz
Best HS Solo- Katherine Ann Mohler (Islands)
Best Pop Album- "Elemental"
Best Religious Song- "Sun" (Wesley Abington, Soloist)
Best Classical/Traditional Song- "The Angels Carol" (Written by J.D. Frizzell)
Best Holiday Song- "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" arr. Tom Anderson
Best Professional Arrangement for a Scholastic Group- Claire Girard (In the Bleak Midwinter)
