2014 Recipient

Mr. Bubba Gunter graduated from Briarcrest in 1987.  While at Briarcrest he was a 3 year letterman in football, basketball and baseball.  While playing football, he served as team captain, was voted player of the week and won All-Metro and All-State honors. 
After receiving scholarship offers in basketball and football,  he decided to play football at the University of Mississippi.  He went on to play outside linebacker for the Rebels from 1987-1989 before being sidelined with an injury.
After graduating from Ole Miss with a degree in Political Science, Bubba started a career in the pharmaceutical industry.  He began as a sales representative then moved into management as a National Accounts Director.  In 2005, he started his own business, Gentex Pharma, that distributes branded pharmaceuticals on a national basis.   Bubba resides in Madison, Mississippi with his wife Donna and three children - Grayson 16, Haley -13 and Blake 10.  He is a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and a sponsor for the local chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  He is also president for the Madison Ridgeland Youth Football Club which oversees 400 to 500 local children a year that play football.
