Briarcrest is currently looking for a creative and innovative leader to fill the Technical Director position. The Technical Director is responsible for operating and maintaining all event technology used in the Dr. Willard R. Sparks Chapel and Performing Arts Center as well as the many other meeting and event spaces throughout our campus. This position works with all departments of the school and is challenged with delivering excellence in all areas.
Successful candidate will:
Provide technical direction and oversight of audio, video and lighting equipment and services for all school system events
Supervise Technical Associate position(s)
Oversite of classroom audio and video equipment including projectors and Crestron control systems
Oversight and design of all set construction for plays and musicals put on by the Fine Arts department
Manage all operations for the Dr. Willard R Sparks Chapel and Performing Arts Center
Produce and edit system-wide and departmental videos
Instructor in Technical Production Workshop class (Basic and Honors levels)
Purchase recommendation for all audio, video, and lighting equipment
Responsible for maintenance on production audio, video and lighting equipment.
o Digico, ETC, Ross Video, Blackmagic, Shure
Provide direction and oversite of contractors installing audio, video, lighting, rigging, and production communication equipment
High School Diploma or GED
Five or more years of experience with audio, video, and lighting direction in a production environment
Experience with installation and or programming of AV control systems
Knowledge of Mac OS X operating systems
Experience with set design and construction a plus
Able to exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate
