Briarcare positions are available in Little Saints and Middle School. The most important prerequisite is to love working and playing with children. Child care experience is preferred, but not required. The Department of Education does require in-service training each year. Full time schedule is 2:30-5:30 Monday- Friday. Part-time schedules, less that 5 days, will be considered for each position. No nights, no weekends, no holidays.
Briarcrest Christian High School is seeking a coach for the varsity football cheerleading squad. Prospects should have a strong background in cheer – both competition and GameDay material, ability to plan and run weekly practices, availability to attend Friday night football games, run a cheer work week before school begins and work closely with the cheer sponsor to accomplish team goals. UCA instruction background preferred but not required. Must be available to attend cheer camp in June, oversee weekly practices during the summer (one day a week) and season ends after NHSCC. Briarcrest Christian School is seeking a College Counselor. The College Counselor is a full-time, eleven-month faculty position, with a July 1 start date, reporting to the high school principal. The College Counselor is responsible for administering all aspects of the college search and admissions process including the following, but not limited to:
Educating students and parents about colleges, the college admissions process, trends, procedures, and testing; advising and supporting classes of 130-160 students and families as they go through the college selection process.
Meeting with juniors and seniors, individually and in groups, to talk about process and individual college choices. The College Counselor, working with the High School Counselor and Athletic Academic Advisor, also advises 9th and 10th graders on curriculum choices.
Meeting with all college admissions representatives who visit our campus and facilitating meetings between college representatives and our students. The College Counselor also serves as a liaison with College admissions offices throughout the year.
Maintaining and disseminating information about standardized tests such as SAT and ACT, helping to administer AP and PSAT exams, and serving as AP Coordinator.
Compiling an annual Profile of the School, as well as information on grade distributions in junior and senior classes and courses offered at our school.
Working with Registrar to maintain records on seniors, including GPA's and transcripts. A knowledge of Naviance is highly recommended in that this is platform used to store student data, send transcripts and college recommendations.
Writing an official school recommendation for seniors. To do so, the Counselor gathers information from parents, teachers, school records, and students themselves. The College Counselor also completes all School Report and mid-year report forms requested by colleges, including evaluations of students. The College Counselor Serves as a resource for teachers who prepare letter of recommendations.
Administering the College Counseling Office budget and purchasing, maintaining, and sharing information on colleges, college guides, scholarships, financial aid, and paying for college.
Keeping track of admission decisions, statistics, and making reports as needed.
Coordinating and leading a fall and spring College Tour for sophomore and junior students.
Making informational presentations to parents, such as the annual presentations to parents of all high school students, new parents, parents of 8th graders, and the Parents' Association.
Being aware of issues and trends in college admission, higher education, testing, as well as keeping up-to-date about specific colleges and maintaining membership in professional organizations: the College Board, the National Association of College Admission Counselors, the Southern Association of College Admission Counselors (SACAC).
Coordinating all aspects of High School Academic Awards Day and Graduation. The College Counselor handles various aspects of Graduation such as securing the venue, working with onsite staff, distributing information
