Briarcrest OneVoice To Open For British-American Rock Band Foreigner

Briarcrest’s a cappella group OneVoice has been chosen to open for British-American rock band Foreigner on August 11th at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis.

Originally formed in 1976, Foreigner is one of the world’s top selling bands of all time.  Their records have sold over 80 million copies.  Foreigner’s music has produced 16 Top 30 hits, including the iconic ballad “I Want To Know What Love Is”.  Foreigner’s catalog sales hit Top 40 in Business Insider’s Best Selling Music Artists of All Time, ahead of Britney Spears, Bob Dylan, Phil Collins, Prince, Queen, Bon Jovi and Def Leppard. Foreigner’s founder, Mick Jones, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013. Jukebox Hero, a musical based entirely on the hits of Foreigner, was launched in Toronto in 2019.

OneVoice’s mission is to transform lives through the power of singing.  Under the direction of Dr. JD Frizzell, they have collaborated with multiple GRAMMY winners, including The Swingles, New York Voices, and VOCES8. They have performed at the Emmys, on America’s Got Talent, The London A Cappella Festival, The Sing-Off Live! Tour, two Divisional ACDA Conventions, and the National A Cappella Convention. In 2014, OneVoice became SONY Recording Artists with “Elvis A Cappella”. In 2015, They won the Macy’s All-School A Cappella Challenge judged by Pentatonix. Their recordings and videos have received 14 CARA awards, 38 CARA nominations, dozens of compilation placements, and over 100 million streams and downloads.
