Eighth Grade Student Anthony Mire Wins DAR Essay Contest
Each year, the Watauga chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution accepts entries from middle school students around the area for the American History Essay contest. The essays are scored by three judges on organization, historical accuracy, grammar and punctuation, and creativity. This year, 8th grader Anthony Mire won the essay competition with his work, “The Voyage.” This is the third year in a row that a Briarcrest 8th grader has won this competition! Congratulations to Anthony!
