Seventh Grade Student Jack Branson Competes In National Duke TIP Program
On May 20, BCS seventh grader, Jack Branson traveled to Duke University in Durham, North Carolina for the National Ceremony for the Duke Talent Identification Program. To qualify to participate in the Duke TIP Program, a student has to score at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. This year, 46,544 students took that test. Of those, 15,261 qualified for a state-level award. Of those, 2,241 qualified for the national-level award. The National Award requires 7th-grade students to achieve a score on the ACT or SAT that would be in the 90th percentile or above of college-bound high school Juniors and Seniors on at least one section of the ACT or SAT.
