Position Summary

The substitute teacher is responsible for following the lesson plans that the classroom teacher has prepared for his/her absence. Substitute teachers teach daily with excellence from a Christian worldview and maintain a learning environment that promotes respect.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience preferred

The Head Softball Coach will work under the supervision of the High School Principal and the Athletic Director in accordance with the school’s mission to produce exceptional student-athletes within our Softball program with an emphasis on Christian character development, athletic development, and staff development.  The Coach will be responsible for direct supervision over assistant coaches and student assistants.

The Coach is expected to provide the necessary leadership to plan, organize, and be responsible for the comprehensive Softball program.  The Coach is also responsible for oversight of the Junior Varsity level programs.  The coach will be the overall program manager and demonstrate support for all levels of Softball at Briarcrest Christian School.

Minimum Qualifications (Head Softball Coach)

• Professing Christian with a Christian testimony, an evident walk with Christ, and demonstrated spiritual leadership in the Softball program
• Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred
• Successfully coached Softball at the high school or college level
• College coaching or playing experience and previous Head Varsity Softball coaching experience are highly desirable
• Maintains effective communications with athletes, school administration, staff, students, parents and community
• Maintain an organized Softball program based on effective long-range plans
• Committed to the mission and values of Briarcrest Christian School

• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and lift up to 80 lbs

• Lawn mowing, weed eating, edging, flowerbed maintenance, and mulching

• Hedge and tree trimming, backpack blowing, and trash removal

• Field and parking lot painting, pressure washing, and minor equipment/irrigation repairs

• Assists with school traffic duties as assigned

• Detail-oriented, maintains neat appearance, and follows all required safety procedures

• Valid driver’s license and successful 10-year background check required; smoke-free property

• Strong mechanical, communication, and people skills; works well independently and as part of a team

• Able to lift up to 80 lbs and multitask effectively
