Admission to Briarcrest is selective and is based on factors that include previous school performance, teacher recommendations, testing results, and a record of exemplary behavior at home, in school, and in the community.

Financial assistance is available for those families who demonstrate financial need as determined by submitting the Parent's Financial Statement to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid in Princeton, New Jersey.

Schools in the Memphis-area generally have a screening range for preschool from June 1 to August 15. While students are generally better prepared the older they are, nationally and regionally, these dates vary widely with some schools testing through September. At BCS, we screen students according to developmental readiness and will recommend the placement that allows your child to be the most successful.

Applicants for the Little Saints program do not need to be potty-trained. All applicants for PK and above MUST be able to use the bathroom independently without assistance before the August start date of school.

• Maintain a “C” average or above in academic classes
• Applicants for grades 1-5 must attain a composite achievement score on a nationally-normed standardized achievement test at the 50^th percentile or higher. Recent test results within the last 18 months are acceptable. 
• Applicants for grades 6-12 must attain a composite achievement score at the 50^th percentile or higher on a nationally-normed standardized achievement test: CPT4, ISEE or state standardized testing. Our guidance office will determine if further testing is needed. 
• Grades 6-8 may require placement testing for the honors program.
• Score within the average range on an I.Q. test or equivalent score on another ability test
• Have a satisfactory behavioral history at home, in school and in the community with no record of suspension or expulsion
• Must complete a records release form that gives us permission to acquire records and a teacher’s recommendation form that we provide
• Interview, Shadow Day, Tour or other opportunity to meet with the appropriate school officials 
• A copy of the Certificate of Immunizations is required for all grade levels. 
• A copy of the certified birth certificate is required for all grade levels.

Step 1 – Complete an online application.

Step 2 – Admissions will email a records release form to you. Please complete and return to Admissions by email or fax.

Step 3 – Email or fax additional documents to Admissions:

• Certificate of Immunizations
• Health exam for Little Saints, PK, JK, and SK
• Certified Birth Certificate (not the mother’s copy)

Step 4 – Admissions will call you to schedule a pre-screening if your child is in elementary.  A shadow day or tour will be scheduled for those in middle and high school. 

Step 5 – For grades 6-12, academic records will be reviewed to determine whether additional testing is needed.

Step 6 – The student’s file is reviewed by the Admissions Committee.  

Step 7 – Parents will be notified of decision and when the contract will be issued.
