We believe that qualified students who desire an education at Briarcrest Christian School should not be turned away because they cannot pay full tuition. Therefore, we have established a Financial Aid Program to help families in need. Financial Aid is awarded strictly on the basis of need as determined through a completely confidential process. Briarcrest does not award any athletic or academic merit scholarships.
In order to be eligible to receive need-based financial aid, a student must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA at Briarcrest.
Financial aid is not offered to Little Saints. (Two-year-old preschool program)
Briarcrest Christian School offers financial aid to enrolled competitive students who could not otherwise afford to attend.
All aid is awarded on the basis of financial need as demonstrated through the School and Student Services by NAIS for Financial Aid. There are no athletic or merit based scholarships.
Financial aid is funded through a number of sources: Annual Fund, the Annual Operating Budget and other gifts and endowments.
All financial aid award decisions are made by the financial aid committee. The committee consists of the President, Headmaster, Director of Business Affairs and the Financial Aid Coordinator.
The School is committed to protecting the privacy of its families; therefore, all information received by the Financial Aid Coordinator is held in the strictest confidence. Financial information is never shared with the Board of Trustees (other than Financial Aid Committee members), donors, faculty/staff members, or anyone else outside the Business Office. The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association will receive a copy of the summary of the Report of Family Contribution from School and Student Services (SSS).
Applying for admission and for the Financial Aid Program are completely separate.
Admission to Briarcrest Christian School is based solely upon a student’s qualifications. The amount of financial aid awarded is based on a family’s financial need and available funding.
An enrollment contract must be offered to student(s) before aid can be awarded. If you have not already contacted the Admissions Department at Briarcrest Christian School, please reach out to Nancy Blaylock at 901-765-4654 or NJBlaylock@briarcrest.com or Claire Foster at 901-765-4605 or firstname.lastname@example.org for the enrollment process.
If the cost of a Briarcrest Christian School education is beyond a family’s financial means, they should apply for financial aid. Income may not preclude the possibility of assistance since other factors such as dependents, other tuition costs, considerable debt (excluding consumer debt), unusual medical expenses, or some other extraordinary financial burden are considerations. The entire process is confidential. Within the limits of available funds, Briarcrest Christian School seeks to provide financial aid to all qualified students.
Briarcrest Christian School accepts financial aid applications from returning families who have not received financial aid in the past on the same basis as any other family requesting financial aid. The same rules of eligibility apply to returning students.
A family must apply for aid each year and complete a new Parents’ Financial Statement. Any student currently receiving need-based aid may reapply as long as all current financial obligations to the school have been met. While a family must reapply for financial aid each year, they may reasonably expect to receive some assistance if aid was given the prior year and if the family’s financial circumstances are relatively similar to those of the prior year.
All families who wish to apply for financial aid for the 2019-2020 school year are required to complete the NAIS School and Student Services Parent Financial Statement (PFS). The PFS is a comprehensive application that will take some time to complete. You’ll need all the required documents ready to upload (in a PDF format) once you have submitted the PFS. Briarcrest Christian School does not award aid without verifying information.
It is VERY IMPORTANT to complete the PFS application and submit it to SSS as soon as possible.
