A word of thanks Tuesday 2/5
This is a letter we received recently from Coach Escue at Harding. It is a wonderful and humbling complement to the 7th grade basketball team.
Coach Pavatte,
I have been impressed with your 7th grade boys basketball team. First and foremost their Christian attitudes. I had several of them after tough games this year look me straight in the eye, grab my hand and with their heads held high, say "Good game coach". It is rare these days to see such maturity. As you well know, many young men these days will hang there heads slap at your hand and display poor attitudes. Not so with several of your guys on this squad. These young men also play the game with great heart and character. Your coaches and parents are to be commended for encouraging this display of Christian sportsmanship and it doesn't go unnoticed. Thanks also for hosting our tournament.
Coach Escue

After a thrilling win by the 7th grade girls’ team, the 7th grade boys took the court and posted an overtime victory over the shell-shocked Eagles. Then after a 2-point loss by the 8th grade girls, the 8th grade boys but the finishing gravy on the birds, leaving them unable to fly and all in the stands saying Saints Win! Saints Win! Saints Win!

Wrestling Monday 11/26 (update)
We had an outstanding Tournament on Saturday at Collierville High School. I am pleased with the outcome of the hard work each young man displayed as they met the challenge of our competition with the utmost sportsmanship.
To recap the results; we had nine boys competing in a total of seven different divisions based on weight classification and level of experience or age. Beginning in the lower weight class and younger wrestler's; Christian Satterfield received a Silver Medal beaten only once by last year's State Champion in overtime 2-0. Griffin Brown received a Gold Medal having pinned two opponents in the first period. William Faulk and Reece Pavette faced stiff competition in their division leaving it all on the mat. William was successful placing third in his division earning a Bronze Medal for the Tournament. Court Satterfield faced four opponents and pinned four opponents in quick fashion to earn a Gold Medal! Collin Brown didn't waste anytime taking care of business to pin three opponents to capture a Gold Medal in his weight class. Austin Kent displayed unmatched skill in defeating every opponent he faced to walk away with "The Gold."! Kyle Meding faced very tough opponents in his division using many outstanding moves and wrestling his heart out to come up just short of capturing a medal in the Tournament although he was awarded a medal by myself and Coach Larry for displaying the highest level of intensity and focus of those wrestlers who did not place in the Tournament. If we all had this much heart!!! Hunter Turner faced difficult competition in his weight class and came up short in his effort to obtain medal standing.
We competed in seven different weight and experience classes and medalled in five! The team continues to excel in their skill to overcome the challenges they face in each match. Their commitment to executing the moves and the heart it takes to be successful in this sport is paying off in Gold, Silver, and Bronze!
Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work and dedication.
We will have practice today, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and are planning to have an Inter-squad Tournament on Saturday. I look forward to seeing you this evening. We will focus on reviewing many of the moves seen this past weekend as well as learn some additional moves to better prepare you for the remainder of the season.
In Christ,
Court Satterfield
