The 2008 Saints are coming off two straight State tournament appearances after a drought of close to 30 years. The Saints return many players from those two squads and a hoping for equal success this season. Because of their recent success, the soccer schedule has been upgraded this season. The Saint's schedule has them playing all the traditionally strong private and public schools in the Memphis area and a tournament in Paris, TN. with hopes of a return trip to the state championships to follow.

The Saints opened the scoring early on a corner kick from Andrew Ballard that found it's way to the head of Anderson Goin who flicked it on to Andrew Davis for the first goal of the game. The scoring continued as goalkeeper Mark Longworth took advantage of the high winds and launched a drop kick over 60 yards springing Anderson Goin for his second goal on a break-a-way. Anderson later completed the hat trick with a cheeky flick on off the corner kick taken by David Caulk. Andrew Ballard completed the scoring on a nicely led pass from Andrew Davis.

The defense and goalkeeper Mark Longworth kept their slate clean with the first shut-out of the season. The Saints resume their schedule on Thursday (3/20) against rivals St. George's.
