These
courses meet the graduation requirement of P.E. and Wellness. A general overview
of physical conditioning and coordination (with emphasis on team activities)
is blended with a review of health principles, a study of body systems, safety,
and first aid.

Essentials of
Strength Training and Conditioning I – 1 credit
This course is offered
to any student in grades 10–12. The emphasis for male students will
be placed on building muscle strength and stamina. Female student workout
will focus on the toning of muscle groups and cardiovascular conditioning.
Each student will have a program that best suits his/her individual level.

Prerequisite: 1764 Strength Training
and Conditioning
This course is offered
to students in grades 10–12. Male students participate in a fitness
program that is a continuation in building muscle strength and stamina. Female
student workout will focus on the toning of muscle groups and cardiovascular
conditioning.

Driver’s
Education – 1/2 credit
Fee: TBA
This course, taught by an approved driver training program, includes both
in-class instruction and behind-the-wheel experiences. Students develop proper
attitudes and skills for safe driving. Certificates verifying completion of
an approved driver training program are given to those successfully completing
the course. Driver Education is offered after school and during the summer.
Enrollment is limited.
*If for any reason the student does not want the driver education credit
or grade to appear on the permanent academic record, the student must bring
a note from a parent or guardian to have the grade removed.
