Briarcrest Middle School Band

The Briarcrest Middle School Band teaches students the art of playing and making music. Our aim is to enable every student to fluently speak the language of music using traditional wind band instrumentation. Our band performs several times throughout the year for parades, school pep rallies, seasonal concerts, regional concert festivals and competitions, solo and ensemble festival, and All-West band festival.

Beginning Band, 6th Grade

In beginning band, students learn the fundamental techniques required to play an instrument of their choice. This includes learning basics in tone production, rhythms, and music theory (learning how to read and play music in various keys). Students in beginning band participate in both spring and winter concerts.

 

Intermediate and Advanced Bands, 7th – 8th Grade

In our Intermediate/ Advanced bands, students sharpen their listening skills and musical expression, while continuing to become more proficient with sight reading and technical abilities. These students perform several times throughout the year in a variety of settings including parades, school pep rallies, seasonal concerts, regional concert festivals and competitions, solo and ensemble festival, and All-West band festival.
