Chamber Choir
Auditions for Honors Chamber Choir will be held Thursday and Friday, March 7 and 8 during the school day for current students. Signup sheets will be posted on the choir room door. Transfer students who have been accepted to BCS should contact J.D. Frizzell to schedule auditions.
Auditions consits of:
- 4-mesure sightreading examples, beginning with stepwise motion in simple time, gradually increasing in difficulty.
- Tonal Memory (set of 3-5 notes played on piano and sung back by student).
- Vocalising to hear tone and range.
- Fill out questoinaire on experience, goals, and musical skills.
OneVoice
Auditions for OneVoice will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 5 and 6 from 3-5 PM in the HS Choir Room for current and incoming students. Current students should sign up on the choir room door. New students who have been accepted to BCS can contact J.D. Frizzell to sign up. All students must come to the first day of auditions.
First audition on Monday, March 5 consists of:
- Singing a 1-minute solo excerpt of your choice from any popular music genre with CD or iPod/Phone track accompaniment.
- Fill out questionaire on experience, goals, and musical skills.
Callbacks will be posted on this webpage. Those students will return Tuesday, March 6 to:
- Learn a new 32-bar excerpt from an a cappella arrangement.
- Sing in groups of 4-16 to demonstrate his or her tone, ability to hold an independent part, range, musicality, poise, confidence, and attitude.
