Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why should I give to the Annual Fund?
A. Your gift enables our students to reach their fullest potential academically, athletically, artistically and spiritually. Each gift made by our parents, alumni, grandparents and friends demonstrates their support and "vote of confidence" in the mission of Briarcrest.
Q. Where exactly is my money going?
A. All Annual Fund money goes directly where the donor indicates. There are seven designated budget funds: Athletic, Cheerleading, Employee Appreciation, Fine Arts, School-level enrichment, Tuition Assistance and Technology or the gift can be given as undesignated and where it is most needed.
Q. Why do you ask for donations in addition to tuition?
A. Tuition and fees do not cover the true cost of a Briarcrest education. Annual Giving is vitally important as it helps close the gap between tuition and the real cost of educating a student at Briarcrest.
Q. How much should we give?
A. Our prayer is that parents, grandparents and alumni would consider giving to Briarcrest as a priority. Every single gift, regardless of the amount, is deeply appreciated.
Q. What is the difference in the Annual Fund and capital campaigns?
A. The Annual Fund occurs annually to help meet the needs of our operating budgeting. It is part of the difference between tuition and the total cost of educating our students.
Capital campaigns are not conducted on a regualr basis and are funds strictly used to help purchase property and construct buildings, i.e., the bricks and mortar. The most recent capital campaign, Building on a Sure Foundation, helped to construct the new Houston Levee elementary and middle school.

Q. What if I don’t have much to give?
A. Every gift counts. Maximizing participation is our goal and participation is important. You can help with a gift of any size.
