Rising 6th Graders Enjoy F-5 Day
Wednesday, May 1 was a day of fun, food, fellowship, facts, and fine arts at BCMS as our rising 6th grade class joined us "in the middle." Our newest middle-schoolers spent the day learning more about middle school life and all of the joys and challenges that await them in August. They were treated to "samples" of our Related Arts Offerings (see Mr. Quinn left demonstrating the trumpet) as they attended band, choir, and art classes. The day concluded with mini-concerts and a parent meeting hosted by Miss Watson.
We can hardly wait to begin a new year with these new middle-schoolers. See you in August!!
BCMS 8th Grader Takes Tennis Honors
Congratulations to Peyton Sessions, BCMS 8th Grader, for her 1st Place Finish in the Shelby-League Tennis Championship. Peyton (pictured right) easily won her quarter and semi-final matches, but ran up against a tough competitor from Hutchison in the finals. After dropping the first set, Peyton rallied for a 6-3 second set win and a convincing 10-5 tiebreaker to capture the tournament title. Peyton becomes the only BCMS athlete to win this prestigious prize. Congratulations, Peyton! We are so very proud of you.
BCMS Students Post Johns Hopkins Honors
We are pleased to announce that six Briracrest 8th GradeStudents have received an Award of High Honors for their testing results
through the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Program. Marley Bennett, Garon Durst, Josiah Fahhoum, Morgan Hunt, Ashley Hunt (not pictured) and Zachary Towne scored a 25 or above on the ACT reading or math section. Scoring at these top levels is a great achievement. Congratulations to these gifted students!
"Swap the Shop"
As we approach the end of the school year, it’s time to think about our annual “Shop the Swap” Day. Many parents find this event very helpful in purchasing gently used uniforms for the upcoming year. For more information, our will want to click here.
We also need the help and assistance of a few volunteers to help oversee the event. Click here to find a Volunteer Shift Form
