Thanks to all of the students, parents, teachers, and administrators who helped make our class trips of 2008 such great and memorable experiences. Our students were shining examples of the excellence that comes when we pursure the Most Excellent One.
Spring Retro and Honor's Assembly
Parents - You are invited to join us for our final retro of the year. Retros are our way to "look back" and remember the fun we have had and the faithfulness of God. This final retro will feature a video of our spring actitivities and a few student honors and recognitions will be presented. The program will be held in our auditorium and will begin at 9:25 on Wednesday, May 14. (Chapel attire is not required)
8th Grade Graduation Information
You are cordially invited to attend our 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, May 15 at 7:00 p.m. Students must arrive no later than 6:40. A reception for students and guests will be held in the cafe immediately after the ceremony.
Required Dress for Boys: Khakis or dress pants with dress shirt and tie. A dress coat is not required. No tennis shoes, fkip flops, or Birkenstocks.
Required Dress for Girls: Skirts or dresses appropriate for chapel or Sunday dress - no sun dresses, strapless dresses, or dresses with spaghetti straps. No tennis shoes or Birkenstocks. Dressy sandals are acceptable - no flip-flops. Attention 6th & 7th Graders - On Wednesday, May 7, you may wear your regular school uniforms. Chapel attire is not required.
Textbook Repurchasing Information
The Saint Shop will be re-purchasing textbooks according to the following schedule:
Senior - Exam Week - High School Saint Shop Only May 13, 14, 15 7:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
High School - Exam Week May 19, 20, 21 - 7:15 a.m. - 12 noon May 22 - 7:15 - 10:00 a.m.
Middle School - Exam Week May 19 - 21 - 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The Saint Shop will be closed after May 22 and will re-open on August 4. The Textbook Bulletin (containing the books required for next year's classes) will be posted on the website by the end of June.
Attention Working Parents

Remember all BCS students entering 7th grade in the fall are invited to Briarcamp 2008. This is the place for hanging with friends, making summer memories, and playing the “Wii”. BCS Consignment Sale News!
Mark your calendars for the annual uniform swap. All dates and times are listed below. A limit of 40 items per person will be accepted. Items must be BCS uniforms purchased from Dennis-Larose or the Saint Shop. Items must be free of stains, pressed, tagged, and on hangers. Watch the Wednesday Runner for a flyer giving all details. 7th Grade Announces Year-End Bible Study/Celebration
All 7th graders are invited to a Year-End Celebration and Bible Study on Saturday, May 17. Join us at the home of Nathan Armstrong (7400 Crestridge Road, Memphis) from 6:00 - 8:30. First Period Exam 8:00 - 9:30 Break 9:30 – 10:00 Second Period Exam 10:00 – 11:30
Tuesday, May 20 3rd and 4th Period Exams
Third Period Exam 8:00 - 9:30
Break 9:30 – 10:00 Fourth Period Exam 10:00 – 11:30
Wednesday, May 21 5th/6th and 6th/7th Periods
Fifth or Sixth Period Exam 8:00 – 9:30 Break 9:30 – 10:00 Sixth or Seventh Period Exam 10:00 – 11:30
· Exams will be given in Math, science, Social Studies, Latin/Classical Studies, and English.
- Students do not have to report to school during times they have no scheduled exam. Study halls are provided during these times, however, for students who must be on campus.
- All school policies pertaining to dress code, conduct and other school regulations will be in effect during the days of exams. If uniforms are not available due to the uniform sale, students may wear jeans with Briarcrest t-shirts. Lunch will not be served during the entire week of exams, and no aftercare is provided.
- The exam rotation is based upon a regular Monday schedule.
No changes in exam scheduling will be made without administrative approval.

Boys' Basketball Meeting Scheduled
Coach John Harrington and Coach Allen Pavatte would like to meet with the parents of all basketball boys graes 5-8 to discuss the basketball program in general and to provide important information regarding upcoming opportunities. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30 in the Cox Room at the Sportsplex.
Athletic Physicals Required
All student athletes must have a physical dated after May 1, 2008 to participate in a school-sponsored sport. These physicals must be in on file in the Middle School Office prior to participation. A physical can be obtained from your private physician or through the Briarcrest Sports Physical Program.
If you choose to use the Briarcrest-offered Sports Physical Program, the Sports Medical Form (online) must be completed by a parent prior to the actual physical. The cost of the physical is $20, and checks should be made payable to Becky Adkins who will be on campus on Wednesday, May 21 to administer physicals after exams. RECEIT OF PAYMENT AND FORM MUST PRECEED APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION.
Currentn physicals for all sports athletes and cheerleaders must be on file in the Middle School Office prior to the onset of practice and/or competition. No athlete without a current physical on file will be allowed to practice or participate in games or other athletic contests.
To schedule your appointment time, dowload the physical form (online), complete the first page, and return the completed form with payment to the middle school office.
