From the Principal
Dear BCHS Parents,
For many months I anticipated and wondered how Briarfest ’08 would unfold. Many in the BCS family had worked for a long time in planning and preparation for this event. Prayers had been lifted up in regard to the weather. Finally, the BIG DAY arrived and the weather was great!
From my perspective, it was a huge success. Sure, lots of money was spent on the various activities and food offerings; however, something was present beyond the games, activities, and other offerings. I was amazed at the number of people present, young and old, students and parents, relatives, and others who REALLY seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience! In a special way, as I walked around Briarfest ’08, I felt like I was in a type of Magic Kingdom. Children were excited and playful. Older students were involved in many capacities, assisting with events and just being present. Adults were far-removed from their daily routines and responsibilities and were caught up in the atmosphere.
Briarfest!—thanks for all who planned, directed, volunteered, and attended this great event. It is wonderful to have a school represented by such a great spirit! I had a great day.
In HIS Name,
Steve Simpson, Principal

The same is true for the students who will be taking afternoon exams. They have the option to come to school ONLY for their afternoon AP Exam(s). Numerous high schools around the city, both private and public, have this AP exam attendance policy.
Students who come in for the afternoon exams only, MUST check in, with a parent permission note, at the Attendance Office upon arrival. Students who plan to leave school after their morning AP exam MUST check out through the Attendance Office, with a parent permission note to leave.
