REACHING OUT TO THOSE IN NEED
James 1:27 tells us "religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
Briarcrest Lower Elementary is reaching out to children on the other side of the world. These children are in an orphanage in Eldoret, Kenya. These children in the Haven Orphanage were abandoned by their parents or family members due to complications from AIDS. They are now being cared for by Alan & Pam May from Germantown Baptist Church. Alan and Pam left Memphis to start The Haven in 2005. They will be incorporating Fresh Start Orphanage for girls when they find property large enough to purchase for both orphanages to be at one location.
We would like for you to join us in giving to these children in Africa. You can reach out to them by giving a dollar donation to Harvest International, a missionary organization in which Alan & Pam are affiliated.
The Lower Elementary would like to support at least one child at The Haven. We need $50. per month from our school (not from each family). PLEASE KNOW ANY AMOUNT IS APPRECIATED! Will you please help us provide enough money for one child to have good food, clothing, education, and spiritual training?
Beginning November 1 through November 15, we will begin collecting money to give to a child. If you are interested in giving, please make your checks payable to Harvest International. Of course, your children can give money they have saved or earned, also.
Thank you for helping others in need and teaching your children about serving.
If you and your family would like to personally support a child, pledges of support for the children should be made payable to:
